Pirmin Brunner is a European patent attorney and Swiss patent attorney. He holds a degree in natural sciences from the ETH Zurich and has also successfully completed the postgraduate studies ‘Intellectual Property’ at the ETH Zurich.
Professional Experience
Pirmin Brunner has been with Frei Patent Attorneys since 2009. He advises and represents our clients in all areas of patent law (drafting of patent applications, grant, opposition and appeal proceedings, patent litigation and licensing matters) as well as in the field of trademark and design protection – in German, English and occasionally French.
Before joining Frei Patent Attorneys, Pirmin Brunner worked as a patent attorney at Rieter AG, a leading supplier of systems for the production of yarn from staple fibres in spinning mills, and at Alcan (now part of the Rio Tinto Group), one of the largest aluminium producers in the world. For many years, he was a tutor at the basic course in European patent law of the CEIPI (Centre d’études internationales de la propriété intellectuelle) and lecturer at the preparatory course for the European Patent Attorney Qualifying Examination (EQE) of VIPS / VESPA (Association of Industrial Patent Attorneys in Switzerland / Swiss Association of private practice patent attorneys).
