Leon Scherz is a European Patent Attorney specialising in the fields of chemistry and mechanical engineering. Having worked for several years as a development engineer in various branches of industry, he has extensive knowledge in various technical fields as well as practical experience in research and development. In advising our clients, he knows how to switch between micro and macro perspectives, to go into detail and at the same time to grasp the big picture.
Leon Scherz recognised the importance of legal protection for time-consuming and cost-intensive inventions early on during his industrial career. Education and Qualifications
Leon Scherz studied chemistry at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and completed his doctorate at ETH Zurich in the field of dendronised polymers. He has been working in patent law since 2019. He has been a European Patent Attorney since 2023.
Professional Experience
Leon Scherz has been with Frei Patent Attorneys since February 2024. He represents our clients in all patent law and trademark matters, drafts patent applications and advises in patent grant, opposition and appeal proceedings. In addition to German and English, he also speaks some French and Slovenian.
